Modern scanner at LS CARGO Terminal in Warsaw

Since September, LS CARGO Terminal in Warsaw employees have been able to use the state-of-the-art HI-SCAN 180180-2is scanner, which has been specially designed for the inspection of large-size air cargo without its depalletisation.

The size of the scanner tunnel allows for scanning of LD-3 containers (with a height of 1.63 m and maximum gross weight of 1,588 kg), and the system, based on the concept of dual view, provides two independent images of scanned goods, shifted by 90°. This makes image assessment more precise and reliable. Additionally, thanks to HI-SCAN 180180-2is at LS CARGO Terminal, it is possible to handle refrigerated containers (LD-3 size) in the process of acceptance for air transport. This solution provides a business development opportunity for airlines and freight forwarders to handle products that require cold chain maintenance.

The first month of use of the HI-SCAN 180180-2is scanner confirms that the device performs better when inspecting higher density goods such as cosmetics, vacuum-packed food products and densely palletized products. In just one month of use, the scanner has also reduced the number of inspections requiring depalletisation of goods by 20% - 40% depending on the type of shipment.
